On 10 September 2019, the Asian Business and Management Program (ABMP) at York University signed a collaborative agreement with the 17 Education Group to develop programs for Greater Toronto Area high school and university students to improve their creative thinking skills. Building on the work of an earlier project aimed at helping university students develop job-related capabilities launched in May 2020, ABMP continues to work with renowned academic experts and senior managers from the top 500 businesses around the world to design programs that foster critical and creative thinking skills and an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset.

The 17 Education Group is a K-12 education service provider that offers a suite of education services from training in logical thinking to academic planning, university counselling, career planning, and work placement programs. The 17 Study Club is the group’s comprehensive online learning platform. Serving more than 1,000 members, the non-profit platform has provided more than 100 complementary presentations and courses during the COVID-19 pandemic that have been warmly received by the community and three levels of government.

ABMP York and the 17 Education Group virtually launched this series of innovation training programs, including the Youth Soft Skill Improvement and Community Practice Program, the Advanced Enterprises Work Engagement Project, and the Entrepreneurial Mindset and Innovation Application Program, on 22 September 2020.
